The current profile of JF in the database, 840418-321911, was part of the initial pressing that WB messed up (only bonus feature was the trailer). All of the DVD bonus features were supposed to be on there. WB sent out corrected discs with all of the bonus features on the disc. My question is this: Do we treat this as an alternate UPC situation (both UPCs are the same), or do I overwrite the current contribution with the corrected info? Both back cover artworks have the correct bonus features on their discs (V1 has only the trailer and that's all that's listed and V2 has all of the legacy bonus features as noted on its artwork).
My one wish for the DVD Profiler online database: Ban or remove the disc-level profiles of TV season sets. It completely screws up/inflates the CLT.
FACT: Imdb is WRONG 70% of the time! Misspelled cast, incomplete cast, wrong cast/crew roles. So for those who want DVD Profiler to be "as perfect as Imdb", good luck with that.
Stop adding UNIT crew! They're invalid credits. Stop it!

From my perspective, this is no different than other replacement discs so I'd say the disc ID should be overwritten on the original profile. Technically, DVDP stores both for profile lookup.

If it was a complete reissue with a different UPC then I'd say it should be an alternate profile.

From my perspective, we treat this as an alternate UPC situation (both UPCs are the same). There is no reason to overwrite the  existing data. People own the existing discs and they are out there in the world. I am sure all of them will NOT be replaced with the new version of the disc. If there are two versions out in the wild I would vote "Create an Alternate profile".

The rules state "Use for: Two or more releases of the same title with significantly different content. (UPC/EAN only)
